Growing West Side is seeking volunteers of all kinds to support the organization and its seed library and Farmer’s Market. Are you interested in gardening, local foods, or meeting your West Side neighbors? With volunteer opportunities ranging from Farmer’s Market activities coordinator to seed librarian to technology support for the organization, there is sure to be an opportunity that meets your interests.

Growing West Side Seed Library
Seed Library Plant Sale Fundraiser: Help staff the sale! We need folks to spread the word about the sale, help set up and take down the day of the sale and help customers with their purchases. Saturday, May 6th at the Icy Cup – 63 George Street from 8 am to 12 pm.
Staff the Seed Library
The Growing West Side Seed Library is looking for volunteers to staff the Seed Library during its open hours on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.
We need growers: people who are willing to learn how to be steward seed savers, growing seeds this season and returning them to the library for use the following year.
Speak Spanish, Hmong or Somali? We’d love help interpreting at workshops and help with written material for our Seed Library.

West Side Farmers Market
Help with promotion of the West Side Farmers Market by passing out flyers at homes and businesses.
Welcome neighbors to the Market, count customers and invite them to sign up for the Growing West Side email list.
Help Set up and Close Market
Help manager and vendors set up and close down the Market . Saturdays 8 am and 12:30 pm
WSFM/Growing West Side Merchandise Sales and Information Table
Sit at the Growing West Side Table, sell T-shirts and other GWS/WSFM merchandise and share information about GWS and other community resources. Saturdays 8 am to 12:30 pm.
Facilitate chalk drawing, face painting and other opportunities for kids to interact at WSFM while parents shop.
Communications Team: Help maintain our presence on Facebook, write articles for our newsletter or photograph our events.
